Dawgs Take Cordova in First Game of the Season

Dora used a pair of third-quarter touchdowns to beat Cordova in a battle of Walker County rivals at Dora.

Dora took the lead for good at 13-12 with 7:22 remaining in the third quarter when Steven Harrison dove in from the 3. On Cordova’s next possession, Elan Lardis picked off Blue Devil quarter Bart Lockhart at the Cordova 35. The Bulldogs wasted little time scoring, with Erick Woods sprinting in from 15 yards out with 6:45 left in the quarter.

The Blue Devils did mount a late comeback with Lockhart connecting with Ryan robnett on the 16-yard pass to cut the Dora lead to 20-18 with just over a minute left in the game. However, Lockhart’s pass fell incomplete on the two-point conversion try.
